Tips for Leather Couch Care & Maintenance

If you have leather couches, you want them to look new and stay in good condition for as long as possible. Leather furniture is very durable if you take good care of it. Leather care for couches can be rather simple as long as you make the effort to handle it properly. Here are some tips for leather care for couches.

Dust, Dust, Dust

It is a good idea to dust your leather couches on a regular basis — using soft, dry cotton cloths. Dust and even oil from skin can wear down the material over time, so dusting the couch regularly will help prolong its life and appearance. Do not use any type of abrasive brush or cloth. For regular maintenance cleaning, use Leather Honey Leather Cleaner.

Keep Away from Sunlight

When you place your leather couch in a room, you should preferably put it somewhere that does not see direct sunlight. If the couch is regularly exposed to sun for long periods, it could discolor over time.

Use Conditioner

Take note of the factory suggestions, but in general most leather couches need protection in the form of a good conditioner every six months or so. Leather Honey offers a great leather conditioner that you will want to use on the entire couch. Let the leather conditioner dry completely after coating the couch. This routine upkeep will help the couch last longer and look better.

Address Stains

If someone gets something on the couch, you should address the stain as quickly as possible with Leather Honey Leather Cleaner. Guard against rubbing the stain, as that can make it worse. Blot the stain gently instead.

Furniture is an investment, and leather care for couches will take a little time and effort. However, since maintenance prolongs the life and appearance of the furniture, it is well worth the time, effort and cost. Leather Honey’s products can help you do that!
