Leather Honey versus Chamberlain’s Leather Milk

One question we get all the time is about how Leather Honey Leather Conditioner compares to competitor products, like Chamberlain's Leather Milk. People understandably want to know why they should choose our leather conditioner over the competition — and we are happy to give them an answer. In fact, we have a whole list of answers.

Leather Honey was invented over 50 years ago by our grandfather, and continues to be sold by our family today. We long used it on our family farm before deciding to spread the love and share the product with other leather lovers, especially given the broad applications — Leather Honey is the ideal leather conditioner for all leather types, from the saddles and tack we originally used it on to leather car seats, clothing, purses, furniture and more. We’ve never changed the formula, because we’ve never had to: There’s no room for improvement here. It’s the best leather conditioner on the market, and we’re confident it always will be.

Use this table to compare Leather Honey to Chamberlain’s Leather Milk:

Now, a word about what you should look for in a leather conditioner:

This is a case where what isn’t in the product actually matters most. We recommend choosing a leather conditioner that is non-toxic. Avoid conditioners that contain waxes, silicone or animal products; these ingredients damage the leather over time and do more harm than good. Look, too, at the product’s recommended application frequency: A recommendation to condition more often than twice a year means the conditioner doesn’t work very well, which leads to repeated applications and wasted product.

Remember that caring for your leather is a two-part process: While you can condition with Leather Honey leather conditioner just once every six months, we recommend cleaning as needed with Leather Honey leather cleaner. Regular cleaning will prevent dirt and grime from building up on the surface of your leather.

Our customers say it best. Here are some recent Amazon.com testimonials:

Have a Pottery Barn Turner leather sofa that was starting to get small cracks and turn lighter in color due to being dry. I ordered the $49 dollar tiny bottle that PB recommended.... didn't work well. Then ordered Chamberlain's Leather Milk, which as others said, left a bit of a milky white residue. I was worried I had ruined my expensive, beautiful sofa. Decided to give this a try! It's awesome and saved my sofa!!! Huge difference. Did take a couple coats but my sofa looks new again. Would recommend to anyone! Loved the small size so much I had to buy the giant bottle!

I have a great deal of quality leather goods and I have tried many different conditioners over the years and this stuff beats them all. I was using Chamberlain’s Leather Milk on most of my leather goods (as recommended by Saddleback Leather) and I found that it worked well. The primary difference is that Chamberlain’s and most others are very the consistency of water and soak up right away and the results do not seem to last. This Leather Honey conditioner is precisely the consistency as its title makes reference to, honey. It goes on thick and takes a while to soak in completely. Once it is absorbed you can literally tell how nourished the leather is by both look and feel. I have never seen such a dramatic difference from a leather conditioner before. The consistency also makes it very easy to apply. This stuff is great. The conditioner arrived early and was precisely as described. I will certainly order again.

This is by far my favorite leather conditioner! I was happy with Chamberlain's Leather Milk, but it faded my briefcase and did not provide water protection. Leather Honey darkened my leather to a much richer color than before. I will be purchasing this in the future.
