Once upon a time, shoes were made entirely out of leather and the only existing leather conditioners were made of fire hazardous materials and produced toxic odors.
Two men, a retired chemist and our very own, Daniel McGowen, put their heads together to find a better solution for the restoration of shoes. In the 1960s, the Leather Honey formula was born.

Before it was mass-produced, the two conducted an experiment to confirm the formula’s durability. A local mailman was recruited, a man who spent his days walking mile after mile in every type of weather condition. On one of his shoes, a layer of the formula was spread while the other shoe was left untreated.
The experiment proved what the two men had predicted – the sole that was not treated with the formula had to be replaced two times before the sole that had been treated! They discovered that the Leather Honey did not evaporate once it absorbed into the leather and that the formula increased the leather’s flexibility in the cold climate.
They say good things never die. More than a decade later, Leather Honey became a huge success for the restoration of leather shoes, sandals and boots. Leather Honey is now the number one choice for people who want to enhance the look and feel of treasured, but worn-out leather foot apparel.
People become attached to their shoes. There is nothing worse than having to throw-out a pair of pumps or industrial boots because of wear and tear on the leather. Imagine the thank you letters we get from customers who are able to keep their leather shoes for years longer thanks to Leather Honey.
Leather Honey is also popular with other apparel items, including belts, gloves, purses, hats and jackets.
Leather Honey is not only used to preserve the monetary value on expensive items like designer handbags, but it is also used to preserve sentimental value on things like vintage leather jackets.
Good leather products are often handed down from generation to generation. We have customers who are able to wear their grandparent’s items and keep them looking fresh and rejuvenated with occasional applications of Leather Honey.
A little goes a long way with Leather Honey. It also has an infinite shelf life. Just a small half-pint bottle is more than enough to maintain leather apparel and shoes.
Although leather clothing and leather footwear are always in fashion, time takes its toll on the leather. Whether you want to protect your brand new leather shoes, or rejuvenate your grandmother’s fabulous leather jacket or leather gloves, Leather Honey Leather Conditioner is the product for you. It can be used to treat leather jackets, coats, pants, shoes, sandals, boots, hats, and handbags of any kind or color of leather*, regardless of age or state of wear. (*except suede).
